New Hampshire, USA—April 13, 2017—The Toyota Center for Science and Technology in Portsmouth, New Hampshire is home to the world’s largest collection of research and development (R&D) vehicles, including the Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, and Toyota Camryn.
Located on the outskirts of Portsmouth, this research and technology center was created to make this state and country the “Toyota of the Northeast.”
To build a truly competitive car, however, you need to start by assembling your own kit, rather than buying a kit from a dealership.
While a lot of research facilities are open to the public, there are restrictions that prevent anyone from assembling a car at the facility.
Here’s how to build your own Toyota Camrys and Corollas at home, in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Find a Toyotas/Crossovers Garage at a Car ShowPlace your order online and send the vehicle to the Toyota Center.
You’ll need to pay the $5,000 per vehicle cost to place your order.
This is to secure the car in a garage.
Step 2: Build a Kit at HomeBuild your kit in your spare garage space.
You will need to get your own power supply and a few tools and drill bits.
You can get most of these parts from a local hardware store or online.
The kit should be built to the exact dimensions of the Toyota building.
This should include the trunk, door, and roof.
There is a “wall” of around 1/2″ (3.75mm) thick foam around the trunk and roof that will serve as a floor for your vehicle.
The trunk should be made of plywood or similar material to give it strength.
The roof should be painted a bright yellow and covered in some sort of protective foam.
You may want to get some foam padding.
The assembly of the car should take no more than an hour or two.
You might want to plan ahead to set up the garage for the project.
Step 3: Add a HeadlightFor your headlight, drill a hole in the back of your car with a screwdriver and a bit of drill bit.
This hole should be about 1/8″ (2mm) wide.
Make sure to secure it with duct tape or tapered screws.
Step 4: Drill the Headlight with a ScrewdriverAs you’re drilling the hole, carefully rotate the screwdriver until the hole is centered in the drill bit, about 4-5 times.
Use a drill bit that has a bit that goes into the hole.
You should be able to see the hole through the tapered screwdriver bit.
The hole should then be slightly larger than the drill hole.
If the hole doesn’t look too big, you’re good to go.
