Builders are looking to rent out their properties in the City of Calgary.
Shaco is one of several Calgary-based companies that are looking for developers to build rental units for rent in the city.
“It is a great opportunity for new entrepreneurs to get started,” said Dave Breslau, president of Shaco.
“It is affordable housing and a great place to start a business and build a business.”
Breslao said the company has a team of 25 people working on a project in Calgary.
“We are not looking for anyone to make a million dollars in one year,” he said.
“We are looking at people who are in the business of building homes for a number of years and then turning that into rental units.”
Shaco has developed a number in Calgary that are available for rent.
Brentwood, a home with a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with views of the Calgary River and a pool, is available for $1,800 per month.
A one-bedroom unit at 1 Brentwood Avenue costs $1.5 million.
There are several other Calgary-area properties that are currently available for rental.
The building on East 17th Street is currently on the market for $2.1 million.
Bresslau said he’s not surprised to see more Calgary-Area developers interested in building rental housing.
In Vancouver, it’s been going on for quite some time, and I think Calgary will see a similar thing.”
